Mission, Purpose, and Objectives
Recreation Section by-laws effectively state the intent of the group in the following way: The Recreation Section serves its membership by providing for the advancement, promotion, and furtherance of quality leisure services in Illinois.
Specific objectives are:
- To propose and promote the highest standards of professional service, competence, and ethics.
- To educate the citizens of Illinois of the values of quality recreation services.
- To provide a method of dissemination of information relating to the recreation and leisure field and to encourage study and research matters of professional interest.
- To promote the involvement of Recreation Section members.
- To promote networking of Recreation Section members.

Organizational Structure
Like other IPRA Sections, our Section Board is made up of officers, area representatives, and section representatives on other IPRA Boards, as well as 10 special–interest committees which focus their attention on diverse concerns of the field of Recreation.
